| Buffalo is home to the Buffalo Bills, a charter
member of the American Football League now in the NFL, and the
Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League. |
| Other local teams include the Buffalo Bisons of
baseball's International League, and the Buffalo Bandits (indoor
lacrosse). The Buffalo Braves played in the NBA from 1970-1978
before becoming the San Diego, then Los Angeles Clippers. The
Arena Football League's Buffalo Destroyers moved to Columbus,
Ohio and are no longer in Buffalo. A previous incarnation of
the Buffalo Bills played in the All-American Football Conference,
and the Buffalo Bisons played in baseball's National League
from 1879-85. |
